We have moved to Bell County... into a small subdivision out in the Texas Hill Country. We were looking for a little elbow room, a generous portion of trees, and hopefully a few birds. We needed a house that would be big enough to afford some studio and storage space, and one that would require little or no maintenance. And we wanted to be closer to our daughter, but not too close. And thank you Lord, we found that and much more.
A morning view from our back porch.
The definition of Grace is unmerited favor. As we look out across Bell County each morning, taking in another fabulous original sunrise made by the Creator, we are reminded of His Grace... poured out on us... hence the name of this blog.
Colorful painted buntings feed one another here on the mesa.
The adolescent birds receive their own portion of grace, as we witness rare displays of the natural world. I kick around the property and find ancient fossils and Indian stone tools laying on top of the ground where they have stared up at the sun for ten thousand years.
It's like a year is a day and a day is ten thousand years. Each morning I spring out of bed like a kid at summer camp. We love this place so much already, we hate to leave and we can't wait to go home.
In many ways, God has given us what we always wanted. But perhaps we did not know until now. And I know that it was not just to make us happy... it is to lay the ground for the next chapter in our lives...
And part of that is this blog... to share our blessings, His grace, and the perspectives we discover here on "Grace Mesa."
